About Dan and Hannah Acfield
The Acfields have taken their music from their childhood in central Queensland to the world. Their two beautiful voices have spent many a childhood car trip together harmonizing together in Australia and overseas. Their blending of folk-pop and alt-country roots has created music that stays with you long after the song ends. The brother and sister duo, Hannah and Dan Acfield are multi instrumentalists who have been described as “the ying to each other’s yang (Scene Magazine). Coming together after releasing five solo EPs between them and touring both nationally and internationally, the two stopped their sibling rivalry to merge their original musical talent. Releasing their debut double A-side ‘After You/Sorry I’ve Taken so Long’ in 2012 and their EP ‘Turning the Page in the same year, the duo travelled the country before releasing their first full-length self-titled album ‘The Acfields’ in 2014. Reaction from live audiences around the country saw their storytelling, vocal harmonies, and enduring on-stage sibling banter shine. Noel Mengel from The Courier Mail said “sometimes two heads are better than one. So it proves for siblings Dan and Hannah Acfield.” Since then The Acfields have been heard on national and community radio including a spot in Brisbane’s 4ZzZ hottest 100. In 2016 the siblings were awarded highly commended in the country category at the Queensland Music Awards for their song ‘The Years’. Hardly stopping to catch their breath the two have been supporting the likes of Joan Armatrading, Josh Pyke and Vika and Linda Bull and holding spots in numerous festivals up and down the east-coast. 2018 will see the brother and sister team release their sophomore album before returning to the road with “an expressive voice that engages you instantly” (Goyte) and harmonies that linger for days. Debut album out now itun.es/au/VyeM3 Bound by two beautiful voices that have spent many a childhood car trip harmonizing with each other, sibling songsters The Acfields have been aptly described as “the ying to each other’s yang”.
