About Crunchy Kids
Crunchy Kids is a four-piece hip-hop band, with a distinct sound, fusing jazz, soul, and punk. The independent, Minneapolis-based group is led by emcee, Slim Chance and multi-instrumentalist/singer, Eric Mayson. The music consists of thoughtful, slice-of-life analyses, with layered jokes and soaring choruses.
The anticipated 2016 project, Crop came out May 18, and has demonstrated the continued evolution of the innovative power of the composers.
Their 2013 album, “Mint,” received an honorable mention from City Pages for “Best Hip-Hop Albums of 2013.” Crunchy Kids have steadily toured the Midwest, in addition to two trips with multiple shows in Austin, TX during SXSW, and a tour of Colorado in the fall of 2014. Their music has been featured on blogs internationally and their reputation locally boasts an exceptional live show. This band has had a consistent buzz for years, highly respected for continually setting the bar high.
