CrossHead

for english version, scroll down... Im Jahr 2005 wurde die Band CrossHead von Ralph Margotte und Tobias Paesch gegründet. Beide hatten nach langer Zeit ohne eigene Band das Verlangen, den so geliebten Thrashmetal in einer besonderen Form zu produzieren. Nach einigen Monaten im Proberaum- mittlerweile hatte sich auch Bassist Ralf Deling dazu gesellt – waren die ersten Stücke geschrieben und Ende 2006 folgten die ersten kleineren Auftritte der Band. Schnell wurde erkannt, dass hinter dem guten Timing und der ausgefeilten Arrangements der Band ein neuer Meilenstein entstand. Trotz der für die Metalszene so untypischen „einen Gitarre“ wurde Live durch das gute Zusammenspiel ein richtig breiter und ausgewogener Sound geboten, und so entschloss sich die Band einen Live-Mitschnitt als erste Demo-CD herauszubringen. Die wurde in einer 100er Auflage in Eigenfertigung vervielfältigt und war nach 6 Live Shows ausverkauft. Im Jahr 2008 entstand dann das erste Studio Album (…when the gotchaman comes), ebenfalls in Eigenregie produziert, aufgenommen und vervielfältigt, und wieder war das Album innerhalb kürzester Zeit vergriffen. Ende 2008 wurde die Band bei einem Open Air Konzert von Jochen Pelser (ex Grind inc. Ex Hatefactor) gemischt und Jochen fand die Musik so gut, dass er sich spontan als zweite Gitarre anbot. Nach einer Probe war klar, dass Jochen sich optimal in der Band zurechtfindet, und CrossHead wurde um eine Gitarre reicher. 2009 wurde fleißig geprobt und Live gespielt, 2010 wurde dann endlich das erste fremd produzierte Studioalbum aufgenommen, Evil in Return, veröffentlicht am 01.01.2011, zu erwerben bei ITunes, Amerzon und Napster. Highlights bisher: High 8 Festival im Vorprogramm zu Rock am Ring in 2008 und Vorband von Hatesphere (DN) und Pro-Pain (US) in 2010. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Crosshead was founded 2005 by Ralph Margotte (lead vocal and guitar) and Tobias Paesch (drums). Both felt the urge, after a long time without their own band, to re-produce their beloved Trash Metal in a new special and individual way. After a few month in the practice room - bass guitarist Ralf Deling also joined the crew - the first songs were written and in the end of 2006 the first few small gigs followed. It was noticed very quickly, that bands timing and complex arrangement was just right to set a new milestone. Although a "one guitar band" was very unusual for the Metal Scene they still managed to create a well balanced, unique and powerful new "old school Trash" sound with their great team spirit and enthusiasm and the band decided to publish a live recording as their first demo CD and they self produced 100 copies which were sold out only after 6 live gigs. In 2008 they produced their first studio album (...when the gotchaman comes) which also was a self production and sold out in a very short space of time. In the end of 2008 the band was mixed by Jochen Pelser (ex Grind inc. Ex Hatefactor) at an Open Air Concert and Jochen loved their music so much, that he spontaneously offered to play the 2nd guitar. After one practice session it was clear that Jochen just fitted perfectly into the band and CrossHead's final lineup was completed. In 2009 CossHead practiced lot and played more live gigs and in 2010 the first externally produced studio and current album "Evil in Return" was born and published on the 1st of January 2011 - to be purchased on ITunes, Amazon and Napster ;) . Highlights so far: "High 8 Festival" - interlude for Rock am Ring in 2008, support act for Hatesphere (DK) and Pro-Pain (US) in 2010, they were one of 5 finalists in the "Wacken Metal Battle Germany Final 2011" (April 2011) - 1st price was to paly at Wacken Festival but unfortunately they just missed out on the 1st , they also played at the "RAGE AGAINST RACISM Festival Warm Up Show" (May 2011), the NRW Underground Metal Festival in Krefeld (June 2011), they quite recently opened up very successfully the Dong Open Air 2011 Festival (July 2011) on a THURSDAY! evening -- playing amongst other bands like Over Kill, Hatesphere, The Rotted, Evile, Iced Earth and lots more) check out:"Evil In Return" on Itunes & Amazon mp3 out now!!!!
