Contrition

CONTRITION is a metal band based in Copenhagen, Denmark. The quintet was established in late 2009. The strength of CONTRITION has initially been the ability to craft their own sound, through personal development as a band, and as musicians with very diverse influences – and has since focused their attention on developing their equally energetic and enticing live-performances. In April 2014 Anders Høst joined CONTRITION as new lead singer. A new chapter has begun and CONTRITION will continue to make their mark on the Danish metal scene stronger than ever. CONTRITION has come to define its genre as Progressive Metal, as the band always strives to contribute with new and different takes on the metal genre. The band’s characteristic sound is founded on a vast variety of different influences that stretch from various metal sub-genres such as Thrash, Groove, to more progressive and melodic influences. The debut album ’REFLECTIONS’ features hard hitting and technical guitar riffs, brutal and uncompromising growls, tight and crushing drums and bass, but also atmospherical and melodical passages that deliver the refined dynamics.
