About: Coffin Syrup is a brutal death metal band from Charleston, South Carolina founded in 2003. Coffin Syrup executes a wide range of guttural and death metal vokillz in their songs, along with devastating drums, and dual guitar attack. Influenced by almost every corner of the metal genre, they incorporate elements of many styles of metal into their songs. Death, Black, Grind, Slam, Technical, Progressive, and Brutal Death Metal elements are all present in their songs among many other styles. Their skilled musicianship, sickening vokillz, and superior songwriting abilities have won them a rabid and dedicated fan base. Their crushing stage presence has made them infamous for stirring up vicious mosh pits during live performances, sometimes resulting in varying degrees of personal injury. Lineup: Coffin Syrup’s current lineup is a solid alliance of dedicated and highly capable musicians consisting of founding member Rob “816 60R3” Emery on vokillz and 8 string rhythm guitar, Justin “Merle Bomber” Sturdivant on vokillz and lead 7 string guitar, Duncan "DunkTank" on drums. History : Coffin Syrup released a debut demo, “Assplosion” in 2003, and a rare full length album, “Putting the Gore Back in Gourmet” in 2005. Afterwards the band underwent its first major lineup changes with the addition of Russ Lawings on Drums, and the loss of lead guitarist and founding member “Eviscerus” on lead guitars and supporting vocals. In 2008 they recorded and released their most popular album to date, the “Caprarachnid” EP, in The Torture Kitchen Studio with Antifoniq Records founder, Dwayne “The Reign of Pain” Greenhill. In April 2009 they toured Europe with Requiem, Nordor, Warpath, Beneath the Flesh & Abhordium in support of Lividity on their "Fisting Europe" tour. The band persevered until late 2010 as a three piece with Rob on vokillz and guitars, Russ on drums, and Greg Crawford on bass. In December of 2010 Justin Sturdivant was recruited on lead guitar and supporting vokillz. Shortly thereafter Greg left the band. In 2012 they returned to Europe for the “Hammer of Gore Tour” with Sacrificial Slaughter, Bloodsoaked, Gorgy, and Mangled Atrocity. Enduring multiple lineup changes throughout 2011-2012, Coffin Syrup steamrolls into 2013 a killer two man tag team of fucking death grind flattening anything in their path.
