About Chasing Sounds

Chasing Sounds is a punk/melodic hardcore band based in Vienna AT. The band was founded by Attila Benkö & Mate Orban on August 13th 2013. However the roots of the band date back to 2005 when the two guys started their first band together. After about a year of writing songs thru the majority of 2014 ten songs were finalized which later became the material on the bands debut album 'Elektrobioscope' In January/Feburary of 2015 Mate Kovacs (guitar) & Florian Carau (vocals) were added to the line up. Now as a four piece the band was complete and ready to rehearse the songs & prepare to record their debut. In March 2015 the drums were recorded at Pulp Studio for the whole album, later the rest of the instruments were done and in May a music video was shot for the first single 'Knock Out' at a skatepark in Hüttelsdorf - Vienna. The video was released in September 2015 the album came out on 03.12.2015. The band played it's first gig in October 2015 on the main stage of Arena-Wien as a part of a battle of the bands contest. They played a few more club shows in Vienna during the remaining part of 2015. After the release of their debut album in February 2016 the band shot their 2nd music video for the song 'Yesterdays no Different' however the first version of the video got scrapped becouse of some technical issues from the director. They re-scheduled the video shoot asap and finally the video was released in April 2016. Founder-bassist Attila Benkö co-dirtected the video. The video & song became an instant classic in the band's set and gained very positive reviews from various webzines all around the world. It got featured on 4 different international punkrock compilation CD's as well, which got distributed in Europe & South America. The band still remains unsigned but they managed to play a lot of shows in 2016 in the following countries:Austria,Germany,Italy,Slovenia,Croatia,Slovakia,Czech Republic & Hungary. They also opened up for bands such as the Svetlanas and orange county legends Ignite. After spending most of 2016 on the road in September the band has released their final single/music video 'False Flag Attack' from their debut album. Parts of the video were shot in New York City by NY based film production company Cuboid Pictures. This is the first and only video to feature touring guitarist Lorenzo Capobianchi who spend 4 months in the band helping them out, since original member Mate Kovacs was absent due to undisclosed reasons and wasn't able to perform. The band wanted to keep Lorenzo as a permanent member but he had to return to his native Italy to pursue studies in graphic design. The song again gained mostly positive feedbacks and it's one of the fastest songs on the album. Usually the band ends their set with 'False Flag Attack' After playing more gigs in the fall of that year in December 2016 Florian Carau has officialy left the band due to personal reasons and creative differences. In the meantime the band wrote enough material for a second album and are looking for a lead singer to continue releasing new music and tour. Melodic HC Punk Vienna
