Charlatan

Based in SLC, Utah, Charlatan was formed in 2008 by Grey Sorenson & Austin Heath. With a sturdy backbone of metal, rock, and punk, Charlatan fuses each of their songs with a wide variety genres & a healthy dose of sarcasm; a unique sound they have lovingly dubbed "Scrap Metal".

After years of failing forward, they released their first underground hit, Bone Dance. Armed with playful, strange, and darkly humorous music videos, they soon after released their first EP, Nothing to Gain.

After the release of Nothing to Gain, they were approached by Revival Recordings, signed a record deal, and dropped their first full length record, Remarkable.

The album garnered rave reviews, with the Prelude Press saying "With these wild ten track, Charlatan have created something incredibly unique. No two songs sound the same, but as a whole, the album feels like one cohesive piece of music. Lyrically, these songs are brilliant, poking fun at real human emotions without taking themselves too seriously and musically, it’s all over the place, chaotic and incredibly fun to listen to. After Remarkable, they dropped two singles; Book Burner & their most successful release to date, Sucker Punch.

Now, after a couple year absence & a journey through hell, they are preparing to release their next album.
