About Carl Casagrande

Carl started studying music at the age of 15, taking private vocal lessons whilst playing and performing with his first garage band. At the age of 16, he immersed himself on a 3 year long Classical Music Diploma, obtaining a vast knowledge of composition and harmonization, as well as developing his vocal technique, singing in the local choir for 2 years and taking private lessons on weekly basis. After graduating Carl formed his first professional band, Scelerata, recording his first worldwide release at the age of 22. Darkness and Light (Produced by Scelerata, Mastered by Dennis Ward), the bands first album, was released via Mtm/Spv (Europe), Spiritual Beast/Universal (Japan/Asia), Nightmare Recs/Universal (USA & Canada) and Voice Music (Brasil), and was acclaimed natiowide, being voted by the Rock Brigade readers, 3rd best album of 2006, behind only Sepultura and Angra, the 2 biggest Metal icons in Brazil. At the same period, Carl started to work alongside Angra's and Shaman's Management at the time, booking shows for both bands in the South of Brasil. Responsible for booking and Tour Managing entire Workshop Tour's for the likes of Kiko Loureiro, Roy Z, Rafael Bittencourt & Aquiles Priester. The album, which had Angra’s singer at the time, Edu Falaschi, sharing vocals with Carl in one of the albums tracks, reached the Top 50 in Japan and Scelerata toured Brasil supporting the likes of Deep Purple, Edguy, Gamma Ray, Angra and Roy Z, accounting 20 shows in 2 months. A Japanese version with a bonus DVD was released as well. A year after that, Scelerata produced Skeletons Domination, album mixed and mastered in Germany by Charlie Bauerfeind, with a bonus track sang in Japanese. Carl went to Japan, on a promo trip arranged by the bands record label, for signing sessions in key Tokyo stores such as Tower Records and interviews. Album sold the double in comparison to it’s predecessor and saw Scelerata enter the top 30 in Japan, which included an exclusive front artwork and a bonus DVD< only released in Japan. In 2008, looking into bigger prospects, Carl, on a very hard decision, decided to move to London/UK, which lead him to part ways with his friends in Scelerata. Soon after moving to the big smoke, Carl joined the Kent based British band, Dangerous Breed, recording the album Reprogram Yourself. The album was produced, recorded and mixed by the legendary producer Chris Tsangarides and mastered by Ian Cooper at the Metropolis Studios in London. The band toured all over the UK with the album out via Chris Tsangarides company, Vortex Audio. That was the very moment when Carl, via Gumtree, met his former band mates and together they formed Stormborn, Carl’s most recent project. Together they produced an album mixed and mastered by Matt Hyde, playing festivals such as Bloodstock (UK) and Summer Breeze (Germany) and touring with the likes of Six Hour Sundown/Lauren Harris, The Drills/Phil X and Dorje/Rob Chapman. Focused on Tour Management in the UK and Europe, Carl Tour Managed Angra on their US shows in 2013, Lauren Harris and her new band Six Hour Sundown (Booking Key shows in London as well for the band) in the UK and Angra all over Europe and the UK. Mikkeller Running Club London Captain, FOH Supervisor, Metal/Rock Singer, Tour Manager, Booking Agent, Vocal Coach. Huge Sport Club Internacional fan!
