Captain Swing

ENGLISH Captain Swing is an Italian alternative rock band from Baronissi, near Salerno. Formed in 2006, the band currently consists of Fulvio Forte (lead vocals, guitars), Riccardo Alfano (drums and percussions), Gianmario Galano (guitars, keyboards and backing vocals), Salvatore Landi (bass, backing vocals and clapping hands) and Peppe Foresta (guitars, slide guitar and backing vocals). The band sounds pop and fresh, combining sweet melodies, love for the 60’s with punk rock attitude, tough guitars and bizarre lyrics. Captain Swing achieved the 3rd place at the contest “Prove Di Rock” in April 2007, winning the recording of one song in Luigi Nobile’s “Monochrome” studio. They recorded “Stealing Your Music” which had been transmitted by Mike Watt (solo artist, Minutemen, fIREHOSE, Iggy Pop and The Stooges) to his own podcast “The Watt From Pedro Show”. Then “Stealing Your Music” has been played on “The TLP Show “, another radio podcast in Florida.After several live shows, Captain Swing returned to Monochrome Studio for recording: from these sessions one of the tunes (“ We Swing All Alone”) was chosen by Mike Watt for“ The Watt From Pedro Show “again. Captain Swing has played live together with artists such as Virginiana Miller, The Mojomatics, Pertubazione, The Morning Benders, Yann Tiersen, Jamiroquai and recently the band has been part of the Neapolis Festival cast. Their first Ep is called "Give In To Swing" and is also available on iTunes, Amazon and other stores. ITALIANO I Captain Swing nascono nel novembre 2006 nella provincia di Salerno. La formazione originale include Fulvio Forte (voce e chitarra), Gianmario Galano (chitarra), Peppe Foresta (chitarra, slide e cori),Salvatore Landi (basso), Riccardo Alfano (batteria). Partendo dalle composizioni dell'autore Fulvio Forte, la band inizia a lavorare alla strutturazione,all'arrangiamento e all'esecuzione del repertorio, attingendo in maniera fresca e personale dal punk, dal pop, dal noise e dall'indie moderno. All'esordio dal vivo nell'aprile 2007, la band partecipa al concorso musicale "prove di rock". Con l'inaspettato terzo posto raggiunto, i Captain Swing ottengono l'opportunità di aprire in finale per l'esibizione dei Virginiana Miller e vincono 8 ore di registrazione nello studio "Monochrome Sounds & Visions" di Luigi Nobile, a Eboli (SA). Il premio è sfruttato per la registrazione del brano "Stealing your music", accattivante motivo pop trasmesso nel novembre 2007 da Mike Watt (bassista dei Minutemen/Stooges) in California, nel palinsesto musicale del programma radiofonico "the Watt from Pedro". Dopo un' intensa attività live la band torna negli studi "Monochrome Sounds & Visions" per realizzare il primo Lp, composto da 10 brani, sotto la supervisione artistica di Luigi Nobile.Una delle canzoni (We Swing All Alone) viene trasmessa nuovamente nel "The Watt From Pedro" di Mike Watt.Il 16 luglio 2010 i Captain Swing si esibiscono al Neapolis Festival dopo aver superato una selezione tra piu di 200 bands per il concorso RedBull Tour Bus.Tra gli artisti presenti anche Jamiroquai, Morning Benders, Yann Tiersen, 24 grana, Atari.
