Candlefish

Candlefish originated in February, 2014 in Carbondale, IL. The band consists of six members; guitar, bass, drums, keyboards, and percussion. The musical formation of the group truly started back in 2009 when most of them were starting college at Southern Illinois University in Carbondale. Weber and Huellen were in the same area of study as freshman and quickly became friends and started jamming together on a regular basis. As time went on, eventually Bledsoe and Huellen were introduced and instantly clicked musically. When they all played together for the first time, it was a feel nothing short of natural. A couple years later they stumbled upon a new member, Dave Palm (bass), and the band fell right into place. Finally with a new bassist, Weber could switch his focus to the keyboards, which he had just then gotten interested in and was striving for and excelling at quickly. After only a couple shows, the band not only found the missing piece to the set, but finally found their name. Troy Hutchens (percussion), joined the band in February 2014 and with that, it finalized not only their desired direction, but their identity, Candlefish. Jam. Progressive. Electronic.
