Cairns - Sludge Doom from France

Since 2011, the four members of Cairns keep on experimenting and working on a dark and melancholic universe full of shadows, in which larsens, drones, walls of guitars and powerful drums flirts with doom, sludge metal and etheral voices. Their singular sound can’t be defined in terms of musical influences as multiple and dissolved they are but it can be apprehended as a primitive and original language. Whether it concerns noises or emotions, Cairn’s music is a trip from the depth to the astral. The encounter between powerful forgotten monoliths and interstellar sattelites. Whispers and hallucinated screams creates an alchimy both sweet and violent. Their first album «Terra Dementia» was released spring 2016 on via the italian label Argonauta Records with lot of positive feedbacks from press with an average score of 7.5/10. but their instinctive way of playing music takes all his power and meaning during live performances where pachydermic grooves of Julien Aoufi (Drums), François Cayla (Bass & vocals) and Alex Gavalda (Guitar) drives the heavy psychedelic walls of Sound and Dan Letellier’s machines... High decibel dose and thunderous tones guaranteed. The band is particularly devoted to the «DO IT YOURSELF» culture, vital for a total creative freedom. Indeed, the universe in which Cairns is merging (artwork, videos, VDjing) is their original creation. Mixing different artistic forms is something essential for the band. «Terra Dementia» is created in that same spirit of self-production, recorded and mixed by the band in his room. Cairns has shared stage with recognized musicians such as Monkey3, The Cosmic Dead, Joel Gion from the Brian Jonestown Massacre, Toundra, Witchthroat Serpent... A trip from the depth to the astral.
