About Britny Fox

Britny Fox Came roaring into the music scene riding the tails of the late 80's L.A. glam explosion, however they fell from glory almost as fast as they came. They owed a lot to Cinderella, both in sound and career guidance. Gene Simmons of KISS also helped promote Britny Fox.
Formed in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania by Dizzy Dean Davidson (vocals), Billy Childs (bass), Tony Destra (drums) and former Cinderella guitarist Michael Kelly Smith. They named themselves Britny Fox after one of Davidson's Welsh ancestors. Help from hometown friends in Cinderella, and the strength of their demo In America, they quickly secured a major label deal. Tragedy would strike before recording the debut when Tony Destra was killed in a car accident. The band would regroup with former Waysted member Johnny Dee. The debut would go on to sell a million copies, backed by scorching singles such as "Girlschool" and "Long Way To Love." Boys In Heat only managed half the sales of the debut and Dizzy Dean decided to leave and form Blackeyed Susan.
The rest of the members decided to give the band one more try with vocalist Tommy Paris. The third and final album put up decent numbers, but it was apparent Britny Fox's fifteen minutes were up. When the album had run its course the band broke up for good. Paris and Dee would team up together in 1998 and form the band Uncle Edna, while original singer Dizzy Dean Davidson released a solo album as Jarod Dean.
One of the few 80's glam heroes not to reunite it the late 90's, Davidson has said he has no plans to bring the Fox back, comparing the band to "an old girlfriend." However the second line-up did reform in 1999 for a small tour that resulted in the live album Long Way To Live!. A band that deserved to have a much longer career, but left three great albums none the less.
Then came April 2003. Britny Fox releases Springhead Motorshark. An 11 track CD of all new music. One of their best albums to date showcasing their musical maturity and numerous talents. Still heard on XM and rockin' FM stations.
