About Brett Clarke

Brett Clarke, Country Singer/Songwriter started his musical journey in early 2003 overcoming his fear of stage fright with the help of Kim Adams of Kim’s Karaoke, where his musical dreams of becoming a fulltime singer finally began. In 2005 Brett toured Australia with ‘The Brian Young Show’ along with 2006 Toyota Star Maker winner Cat Southern, 2005 Nashville song search winner Shandell Tosoni and Golden Guitar Nominee & Award Winning Songwriter Wayne law. The Brian Young show was a four month tour of the Australian outback, entertaining Aboriginal communities & rural towns throughout Australia. While on tour Brett wrote his first song “Moving On” with the help of Micah Reimers the show’s bass player. “I learnt so much from all the amazing people I toured with from Songwriting tips, Guitar Chords and singing advice. It was just amazing, one of the best experiences of my life that I’ll never forget.” Brett Clarke was born in Armidale New South Wales in 1985, before moving out west to the opal mining town of Lightning Ridge, New South Wales where his father chased the fortune underground. In late 2001 Brett’s parents separated and his mother chose Tamworth as the place to start a new life. Brett soon joined musical workshops with Country Capital Music Association held monthly at ‘The Pub’ in which his fear of stage fright held him from singing on with other country singer beginners. The Telstra Road to Tamworth discovered Brett in 2006 at the Dubbo heat searching for the next big star in Country Music. Brett won the heat and received $1000 towards his career and also media promotion in television & local newspapers. Brett went on to sing in the finals of Telstra Road to Tamworth during the 2007 country music festival. January 2007 Brett attended and graduated from the CMAA College of Country Music where he wrote a heart felt song ‘Standing Back’ an emotional journey involving his stage fright and hidden talent. This song is one of the highlights of Brett’s career in the country music industry. In 2008 Brett recorded a demo with Phil Emmanual & Mothar Mountain Music Studios in Gympie Queensland before moving back to his home town of Tamworth. In March 2009 Brett auditioned for Australian Idol in Tamworth and was one of five people that made it through to the judging round in Sydney where he would face Marcia, Dicko, Kyle & Delta Goodrem and made it to the top 130. Brett is now currently recording his debut EP with Alwyn Aurisch that will tell a story of his musical & personal life to date. Brett has goals of going along way in the country music industry.
