About Blue City Diesel

The group was formed from a lifelong love of songwriters and great music and in 2013 following a divorce and a little soul searching Roman started putting together the pieces to form the band. His brother Jake picked up the bass and after a few came and went local guitarist/songwriter and friend Corey Christensen (Basinbillies) joined California transplant Scott Carter on drums. They spent 2014 in the basement and the studio brining in the soul of the south. They learned songs by JJ Cale, James McMurtry, Ray Wylie Hubbard, John Prine, Hayes Carll, Mike Cooley & Jason Isbell. Giberson's baritone was a natural fit for for some 60's & 70's Waylon Jennings and DAC so that went into the mix as well. They took the show on the road. Playing little joints around Oregon. Soon they were joined by Eli Howard (Brass Tacks) on lead guitar. Eventually drummer Eli Taghon (BrassTacks) replaced Scott Carter and guitarist Robert Talbot (Blue Max) joined the group. Nick Champeau often plays with the band as well. The band continues to play in venues around the region and is currently working on their first EP to be released in the spring of 2017. Roman Giberson - Vocals/Rhythm Corey Christensen - Guitar Robert Talbot - Guitar Jacob Giberson - Bass Eli Taghon - Drums Nick Champeau - Pedal Steel
