About Ben Lester
Based in North London, singer-songwriter Ben Lester creates a distinctive and unique brand of alt/indie baroque-pop, with influences as diverse as The Flaming Lips, The Beach Boys, Big Star, Todd Rundgren and Yes.
Ben started writing music in 2016 while still in school; his debut album was self-released on his record label Flaming Beach at age 18. Preferring to hone his singular vision alone, he composes, performs and produces all of his music himself. His versatility is demonstrated by the wide variety of styles exhibited on his records, with more recent offerings ditching the acoustic feel of earlier releases for increasingly electronic arrangements and progressive structures. Ben was chosen as a BBC Introducing featured artist in 2017, having received airplay on BBC Radio London for his singles And I Saw You and Feel My Way earlier that year which saw presenter Gary Crowley describe him as a "very talented emerging singer-songwriter" who "creates his own unique moods". Prog Magazine, reviewing his most recent album, described Ben as "precocious" and "brimming with ideas and musicality". Ben has released two full-length albums, with his latest, Tomorrow Waits, out December 4th on Flaming Beach Records.
