Belle and The Claytons

Based in Los Angeles, CA, Belle & The Claytons is a one-woman, genre-spanning, musical project formed in 2014 when singer-songwriter Jesse Lynn Madera (West Virginia, Michigan, Texas, North Carolina, New York) was compelled to take on her great grandmother's name, Belle Clayton, as a stage name. Discovering that the word "Clayton" is a recent slang term for "The most wonderful man in the world...", Madera conceived Belle & The Claytons, and set out to find male artists with whom to collaborate. BATC released the music video for the first single "The River" on Valentines Day 2015 (directed by Nell Teare), featuring well known dancers Evan Strand (The Cage), and Rebecca Ocampo (Water Lillies). The song was released for digital download on iTunes a week later,with backround vocals by former Cirque du Soleil guitarist and lead singer for The Darklights, Joe Hundertmark. The next single "You, With The Sullen Eyes", a duet with actor John Hawkes (Winter's Bone, The Sessions) is expected to be released in the Spring of 2015 with another music video directed by Nell Teare.
