About Beautiful Country

Beautiful Country is a Brighton based rock band made up of brothers Ryan (Vocals/Guitar) and Vernon (Bass/Vocals), and close friend Anthony (Drums). Think of Bruce Springsteen & The E Street Band distilled into a 3-piece, a little rougher round the edges and with a chip on its shoulder. The members of Beautiful Country hale from Stoke-on-Trent. Growing up, the trio collectively worked in a range of different jobs in order to fund their musical addiction, including bar tending, shelve stacking and refuse collection. Though their musical ambition would eventually take them away from their hometown, Beautiful Country's blue collar roots are apparent in the lyrics to songs such as Satisfactory Man: "I can't give you the things I always wanted to and my hands can't do the things they used to do. My reflection pains me in the morning light and theres never been a sorrier sight." They don't care for tricks or gimmicks. They are three lads playing instruments they sweated to pay for, writing honest songs about what they know. Aided by veteran producer Nick Tauber (Thin Lizzy) and engineer/mixer Jack Ruston, in late 2012 the band headed to Paul Weller's Black Barn Studio to record their debut EP. Their song Satisfactory Man has been played by Tony Robinson on 6 Music via BBC Introducing. Blue collar rockers working on a dream.
