About BURROWING

BURROWING is the now Melbourne based artist, formerly performing under the name Adam Eaton, who for the last four years has been living, writing, and performing in Norway. The single, ‘Will You Want Me’ was released April 29th 2016 by BIG DAY RECORDS along with concerts in Oslo and in Tromsø, in the far north of Norway. HISS!G.NO in Norway premiered the single and music video, describing it as: “An infectious pop song, with catchy melodies, being perfect for the warm summer day. It's almost like I feel the warm breezes when I listen to the fresh melody and get the urge to go to the beach when I see the video. Will You Want Me is evocative and gives dancing light, but poetry, however contrasting it all with inner demons.” ‘Will You Want Me’ was recorded in Oslo with fellow band mate and producer Peder Simonsen (Jagga Jazzist, Invader Ace, Angus & Julie Stone), mixed by Marcus Forsgren (Jagga Jazzist), and mastered by Chris Sansom (Highasakite). ‘Will You Want Me’ has been A-Listed on Norway’s national station Ordentlig Radio and has had spins on Australia’s Double J, Triple J, Triple R and community radio throughout the country. In Norway, Burrowing has opened a sold out show for M.WARD; Gill Landry (Old Crow Medicine Show), Norwegian tour with Ireland’s The Mighty Stef; performed three times at Musikkfest Oslo; had various residencies at Oslo venues; and earlier 2016 performed in an ALL-STAR band at Oslo’s Piknik I Parken Festival singing on stage next to Marit Larsen (formerly known from 90’s pop-duo M2M) and many other well-known Norwegian artists; and has been a session guitarist/backing vocalist for Norwegian folk singer Janne Hea, who was in 2016 nominated for a Spellemannprisen (Norwegian GRAMMY). In July 2016, Adam and producer Peder Simonsen, along with engineer Mads Johansen and bandmates Are Rosseland, Torjus Eggen, Halvor Falck Johansen, and Ole Torstein Hovig, had began recording the album which is set to be released in 2017. The album has been partly recorded in Oslo and partly recorded in producer Peder Simonsen’s studio in a small village in Italy. Before performing under the name Burrowing, Adam had released a record and EP in Australia which was recorded by Roger Bergodaz (Jordie Lane, Lost Ragas, Tex Perkins), along with a tour with his Norwegian band mates in 2012, release concerts at The Toff in Town, Sold out supports for Two Gallants (US) and Deer Tick (US) at The Northcote Social Club, and many other concerts. The single SENORITA, recorded by Colin Leadbetter (Whitley), mixed and mastered in Melbourne and released through HAKASLEPP RECORDS in Norway (now named BIG DAY RECORDS). Spreading the seed “Senorita is like a romp through a field of wildflowers, gorgeous at every turn” The Wandering Lamb "beautifully touching track with weeping slide guitars, plucked strings and ghostly soothing vocals" SENORITA has since been aired on P3 in Norway and has received fantastic support from Australian community radio, Triple R and PBS, and was a semi-finalist in the International Songwriting Competition. ‘The Morn’ Of Christmas Day’. The special Christmas release, mostly dealing with difficulties of being alone for Christmas, with the ironic cover art which was proven very popular. Recorded in Oslo with band mate and producer Peder Simonsen and was featured on one of Australia’s most popular music blogs Timber & Steel, listed in the years best folky Christmas songs. The first album from Burrowing is due for release early 2017, released internationally through BIG DAY RECORDS. BURROWING is an Australian/Norwegian act currently based in Melbourne and Oslo.
