Arson Academy

A lot can happen in 3 years. At the end of 2008, there were 5 aimless musicians working their day jobs. All having tasted success in previous bands; touring, playing arenas, film soundtracks, compilations… All 5 had stories to tell their grandkids someday. And all 5 knew that their moment to shine was over. But sometimes you can capture lightning in a bottle twice. The name Arson Academy comes from the idea of burning away the old to make way for the new. A clearing out the mistakes of the past to make room for opportunities today. This idea is best captured in the song Falling Forward, a little ditty about not waiting too long for the perfect choice to present itself. It is better to make a mistake and learn from it, then to do nothing and learn nothing. That is the essence of falling forward. This is about as preachy as Arson Academy gets. Arson Academy is inspired by the happy and un-pretentious years of punk music. Songs about spending times with friends, with possible bottle in hand. Songs of hope, and lessons learned. Songs of life and joy, without a heavy hand or heavy heart. Arson Academy is currently finishing up their first full-length album in the studio, with an anticipated release date in June 2012.
