About Archael

Established in 2005, Archael is an interpretive metal band incorporating genres of black metal, death metal, and experimental post-rock/metal. The name, chosen to represent their creative force, epitomizes the group as its own entity working for a common purpose: to create a versatile, extreme, and personal metal that bonds a variety of backgrounds. The original line-up, consisting of Lenin Parada on percussion, Shane Sabonya on guitar, and Ryan Brown covering vocals, released a 2005 demo and a 6/6/6 video displaying their Baltimore soundstage performance. Shortly after releasing another demo in 2010 with a different line-up, the band went dormant. On his four-year search for the right members to join Archael, the only original member, Lenin Parada, ran into childhood friend and guitarist, Brad Robinson. Collaborating their talents, they worked on new material and eventually added Jason McKinney to cover bass and Steven Little to do lead/rhythm. During their first year together, the new and current line-up released their darkest, most violent demo in 2014. Because the guys share history dating back to their childhood, the music they produce is a more extreme, expressive approach that shares a collective balance based on their emotional, musical consciousness when joining as one. Growing up in households filled with music ranging from oldies, classic rock and metal, funk, and Spanish rock such as Mana and Heroes del Silencio (Lenin Parada), the group displays a wide range of influences. Steven Little, self-taught starting at age 11, is influenced by Dimebag, Randy Rhodes, Steve Vai, and Frank Zappa, and Brad Robinson, self-taught throughout high school and beyond, is influenced by Jason Becker, Yngwie Malmsteen, and Alexi Laiho. Jason McKinney, who started taking lessons on bass at age nine and developed his own style, is inspired by Cliff Burton, Alex Webster, and Duff McKagan. Lastly, Lenin Parada, self-taught beginning at age 13, learned by watching and listening to drummers of various caliber, including influences Nicholas Barker, Gene Hoglan, Hell Hammer, Alex Gonzalez, Trym, and Frost. Though all members work day jobs and practice once a week, they have an ultimate goal of being a full-time performing entity. Archael is planning on releasing an album in 2015 and would ultimately like to start touring the states. The guys are currently working on refining their extreme and violent sound and plan on booking more shows to share their set with others. Blackened Death Metal from Fredericksburg, VA
