András Upor

András Upor is a singer-songwriter-guitarist based in Budapest, Hungary. His style has its roots in delta and country blues, but his songs are just as influenced by folk and 60-70s rock music.
András introduced himself after his studies at Goldsmiths in London and years of performing, with an impressive, colorful debut album, Let the Song Work on You. He’s a much-traveled solo artist with a rare set of skills such as energetic performance, diverse vocal qualities, and expressive guitar playing that enable him to fill the stage (and to tear it apart sometimes) as if a whole band were present. Whether with his original compositions or with powerful reinterpretations of traditional songs András has demonstrated to his audiences that blues and folk music are still very contemporary. He’s that certain kind of musician that some of us miss real badly these days.
