About Amaroun
My work explores the black queer experience, alongside themes of belonging, loneliness, oppression, communion & self expression; a journey into my history, memories, religion, identity, repression & ultimately my breaking free, created for all those like me, existing atthe intersections of their heritage & identity –– I embark on this project to connect with them, to build community & to encourage self acceptance in the face of all forms of rejection and oppression.
