Adrenechrome

Like zombies with a taste for flesh... Adrenechrome is a quartet of heavy metal monsters set upon the world with an appetite to bring back good old fashion in your face, no frills rock n' roll. In the early spring of 2010 came the formation of Adrenechrome in their hometown Orillia, Ontario. The four horsemen consisted of Chris "Chutty" Friesen - ripping guitar and furious lead vocals, Timmay Kehoe - stinging guitar and haunting backing voacls, Matt Copeland - god of thundering drums operatic background vocals and Mike Van Dyke - dark lord of the rumbling, gut busting bass. All members shared the same love of the heavy metal greats like Pantera, Black Sabbath, Think Lizzy, Metallica and the new fresh sounds of Mastodon, High on Fire and Children of Bodom. It wasn't long and summer saw the boys tearing it up for audiences around Ontario, showcasing their blistering all original set and becoming tighter every step of the way. Ontario alone, soon couldn't handle the roaring beast, Adrenechrome had to unleash the fury outside the province and headed east to Ottawa and Montreal to give the francophones a stiff shot of old-school meets new school metal offerings, true Adrenechrome style. Their 1st tour was a smelly success, with the boys finding their road leg's quite nicely. So now as they spread like ebola across the country and internet (and soon the world) these harried road warriors will continue to unleash sonic mayhem, liquifying the guts and minds of any man, woman, animal, mineral and vegetable within ears shot. Timmay Kehoe: Timmay kehoe has been playing guitar for 11 years. He prides himself as being a versatile player and listener of many genres such as blues, metal, bluegrass and old school country this has given him a unique way of playing the heavy sludge which he loves so dear. Playing in front of people is his forte', performing in front of crowds since he 13 has given him a "no fear" attitude whilst on stage. Wild theatrics, and the losing of a shirt or sometimes pants, keep this little rocker always rollin. His main squeeze is of course the guitar but has been known at times to slap the skins, rock the organ or even brandish a banjo or mandolin. His musical hereos include Dimebag Darrell, Brian May, Albert Lee, Jerry Reed, Earl Scruggs and last but certainly not least the almighty SABBATH! Mike Van Dyke: Infulenced by everything from the classic sounds of Black Sabbath's Tony Iommi to Queen's Brian May to the crushing blows of Pantera and High on Fire. Mike Van Dyke has been ripping not only metal, but blues and hard rock for 9 years on both guitar and the bass. In the Adrenechrome "circle" he is known as the gear guru, his 4 plus years of working at the local music store has given him the almost superhuman ability to converse with anyone about musical equipment,on a variety of instruments, bass, drums, guitar. You name it he knows it... you break he'll fix it. Matt Copeland: What can we say, he likes Black Sabbath and with ten years of playin under his belt, Matt has ripped up the local Orillia music scene, playin with nothing but the heaviest of the heavy. From his early days with Rules of Deception and Sedated Mind to his new home with Adrenechrome Matt is obviously possesed by some sort of heavy metal drum demon. To make his thunderous beats even more appealable Matt likes to encompass a myriad of various influences, from dreamy fantasy filled prog rock {rush, dream theater, cynic}, to the sounds of Parliment funk and 70's fusion. Chris Friesen: Surviving 100's of shows in dozens of bands in his 15 year reign on the guitar, Chris finds him self now taking on the duty of vocalist as well as guitar in the heavy metal quartet known as Adrenechrome. Chris also wears many hats man it comes to the keeping the monster that is Adrenechrome animated, when he's not on stage playing and singing, he can be found deep in the Adrenechrome headquaters {ID STUDIOS} booking and promoting shows, or out in the community teaching the guitar gospel to the youngins, and providing a helpfull hand with staging and sound for local shows. A jack of all "genres", there's nothing this musician won't listen too, his musical scope includes Pantera, Al Di Meola, Jeff Beck, Randy Rhoads, Steve Gadd (crazy amounts of Gadd), Stevie Wonder and BLACK SABBATH.
