About a New Agenda

Having being formed in late 2012 when Kyle and Mel met at Thornlie Senior High School, where they started hanging out and jamming. After jamming for a couple of months Kyle then had invited Mel to attend a music program in Canning Vale where they continued playing covers and performed in a couple of community events, including a joint performance at the Beaufort St Festival. Not long after they wanted to delve into some song writing of their own, so Mel invited her shaggy friend Lachlan to play drums who was soon followed by his older brother Troy who had some brutal guitar riffs to share. The brothers injected an aggressive sound into the existing melodic framework and something original was born. Pretty soon multi-instrumentalist Thomas was invited to fill in bass duties, and A New Agenda was complete. A New Agenda debuted onto the Perth music scene in February of 2014 and later that month opened for eastern states bands ‘Prepared Like A Bride’ and ‘Hand Of Mercy’. In the following months ANA opened for American bands 'Iwrestledabearonce' and ‘Gideon’. Late 2014, with the departure of their drummer Lachlan, resulted in Thomas stepping up and becoming the drummer of the band and Gabrielle joining the band as the newest member on bass. 2015 has been a very big leap for the band, with the release of their debut single ‘Superman (Just Hold on He’s on His Way)’ in early April, whilst recording their very first music video to accompany the song. Just shows how much 2015 will have in store for them A New Agenda is a 5 piece Hard-Rock/Metal-core band whose influences include Paramore, Memphis May Fire and A Day to Remember
