A Golden Era

Four aging musicians with no aspiration and few talents came together to make music that some have described as "OK". If you want the long, drawn-out version of our beginnings, here it is: A Golden Era was started by brothers Dale and Dustin Beck in 2007 as a rebound project from their former band Stimulus. Making contact with friends PJ Biscontini and Will Shupp, the quartet put together a band, naming it A Golden Era. The band toured much of the east coast, playing at numerous venues and festivals, the most prominent of which being the Vans Warped Tour. Then in 2009 the band released its first full-length album titled Life: As Played by People. The band continued to promote their album through local and regional events, until PJ parted ways with the group to pursue a career in law. Hoping to keep the project alive, the band resorted to craigslist to post an ad. Kara Hartzell responded to that very ad, and joined A Golden Era in the summer of 2009. During that following summer and winter season the group continued to thrive, composing new music and performing various shows. The group developed new merchandise and even considered seeking outside management. However, reality set in, and the band took a brief hiatus to pursue personal goals (career=money). Their hiatus ended up becoming a blessing in disguise. Since their return to the lime light, A Golden Era has released a second full-length album entitled Paper View in Winter 2013 that is now available through iTunes, CDBaby, and Spotify along with their former 2009 release. The band began promoting their new material by accessing new venues, and spotlighting at old, familiar venues as well. A Golden Era is released a SECRET PROJECT in Summer 2014 - a 5 track EP of covers we enjoy. The band also completed a summer tour throughout the New England area that year. Currently, the band is still in touch, but we no longer perform together. Dale and Dustin have become parents (not together), Will has started a career in FL, and Kara is teaching middle school music in NJ. Although we are not together, our music lives on.
