About A Call For Submission

With a modern hard rock sound that some say is evocative of Metallica & Avenged Sevenfold, Nova Scotia’s A Call for Submission was poised to expand their reach with the release of their first studio EP, Rise or Fall and the band did just that. Known for their catchy hooks and melodic vocals, the group has been playing since 2009 and continues to maximize their momentum by continuing to work outside the box in an effort to create an original and infectious sound. The band cites it's influences from bands like: Metallica, Black Sabbath, Slayer, Iron Maiden, Def Leppard, Pantera, Avenged Sevenfold and many more. These influences are evidenced in the band’s musical evolution across multiple genres. At a show, fans can expect to hear intense original sounds blended with popular new and old rock and roll and heavy metal. You can find a sample of their sounds on the band’s Facebook fanpage, ReverbNation, Soundcloud, YouTube, MySpace, CD Baby, Itunes or from their official website at www.acallforsubmission.com Of A Call for Submission’s sound, the band says: “We believe our music balances on the fine line of heavy and melodic. We see people head banging in the front row, but at the same time singing along with the chorus. It gives you the fist pumping, devil horn bearing energy that people crave in music. And the singable, soaring vocals that keep it stuck in your head for days.” A Call for Submission plays events and venues across the Maritimes and beyond with the promotional assistance of their Manager Jessica Brewster of Fusion Entertainment Co. In 2012 they closed Riverfest- Rock the Bush and played again in 2013 with the Denmark Productions Halifax-Plugged In 2012 line-up and then played a full slot in 2014. Their original tune off of their debut EP "Walking Saviour" won them 2 spots at "Festival et Macadam" in Quebec City in September 2013;one to open for Pennywise and one to play after NOFX. They were also 1 of 3 Maritime rock bands to be chosen to play the New Glasgow Jubilee Winter Rock Show 2013. They have now completed their 2014 summer tour of Eastern Canada and are right back at it writing for a new EP expected to be released by Fall 2015. This band has really risen the bar with their new material and are excited for the response from fans and music lovers alike. Modern Hard Rock
