7th Wave

7th Wave is an alternative folk rock band that performs the music of singer/songwriter and guitarist Jenny Chadwick. Her songwriting style has been called "unique" and "delicious" and the band has been called a "band that pushes the envelope". With lead guitarist Peter Nordling, bassist André du Preez and drummer Derich Dippie Plaatjies interpreting the songs be prepared for an enjoyable performance of soul, creativity, groovy sound and musicality. 7th Wave was co-founded by Jenny Chadwick and André du Preez in 2013. Jenny draws inspiration as she sees it. Her songs are poetical verse with a direct message, memorable hooks and metaphors that express personal, socio, political and environmental themes. André lends his deep bass groove that connects to the heart of the songs. Between the band and his work he spends his time with his family and with his other passion, skydiving. Derich Dippie Plaatjies joined 7th Wave in 2014. He is an excellent creative drummer who adds expressive beats and interpretations to the songs and his voice. He began playing the drums at a young age and plays at various events in Cape Town. Peter Nordling is a homoeopathic practitioner and a gifted guitarist who performs with various groups. He joined the band in 2015 and adds melody, rhythm and composition. His guitar solos are never the same and are truly inspired.
