About 40oz Of Spite

Rob and Dirty Dave were in 7 Letter Alphabet together. They toured all over the USA and put out a couple records. 7LA broke up.. Dave went to jail, got out, and started The Beat-Ups. Line up changes haunted The Beat-Ups through out the whole run of the band. In 2006 Tommy Gun (from The Hubies/Nuke and the Living Dead) moved to Grand Rapids and ended up joining the Beat-Ups on bass and back vocals. In 2009 the band split up due to their drummer getting a teaching job in Africa. Fed up with constant line up changes they hung up the Beat-Ups and took some time off. In March of 2010 Dave and Tommy decided they wanted to form something new where they would combine both of their vocal and writing styles together. Dave asked Rob (who was playing in Guns, Drugs, and Vibrators at the time) to hop in on drums. And that was it. 40oz of Spite was born. Taking all the elements of all their previous bands.. combining them together, and amping it up. Straight forward, no holds bar, high energy, in your face punk fucking rock. July of 2010 they released the "Drink It Down EP" which consisted of their first 5 songs. They played steadily through out the year developing their songs and traveling around the state of Michigan. April of 2011 they embarked on a Midwest/East Coast tour with The Hex Bombs with the release of "You'll Never Make The Team. Cause You're Fat" a live EP recorded just for this tour. Feb-April of 2012 they went into Copper Coin Studios with Joe Sullivan and recorded their debut full length, "The Life We Live" and quickly did another Midwest/East Coast tour in support of it in early May. Since then they have been hitting the road hard bringing their straight forward no holds bar punk rock to cities and towns all over the the place sharing the stage with acts like, D.R.I., Kevin Seconds (7SECONDS), The Meatmen, Hellmouth, Koffin Kats, The Vibrators, Michale Graves (MISFITS), and plenty other touring bands!
